Wooten named to Taylor High School Hall of Honor

TAHLEQUAH --  Northeastern State Women's Soccer Head Coach Chase Wooten was honored by his high school as a member of their Hall of Honor at a recent ceremony.

In his eleventh overall season at NSU, Wooten was honored by Taylor High School  (Katy, Texas) for his accomplishments as a coach and student-athlete.   With a career NSU record at 120-54-18, he is the program's winningest coach, and he guided the RiverHawks to their first NCAA Tournament appearance last fall. Wooten's MIAA women's soccer coaching peers have selected him as its coach of the year twice.

As a student-athlete, he played at Centenary College from 1995-98, where Wooten was a goalkeeper and the 1998 male student-athlete of the year.  He would later coach the Centenary Ladies for six seasons while they were at NCAA Division I program.

At Taylor High School, Wooten was captain and selected MVP of the team. He was also a first-team all-district selection, second-team all-region performer, and member of the Texas Senior All-Star Team.
