ALVA – The RiverHawks scored four runs in the fifth inning on Tuesday afternoon as they beat Northwestern Oklahoma 5-1.

How it Happened
The RiverHawks got on the board in the top of the third when
Collin Klingensmith drew a two-out walk. After he stole second and third base,
Chaz Orr singled into left field to score him.
Orr picked up two more runs batted in when he singled to left field in the fifth to score Klingensmith and
Jaxon Phipps, putting NSU up 3-0. After a Northwestern pitching change and two wild pitches,
Nic Swanson singled to right field, bringing in two more runs.
The Rangers responded in the bottom of the inning when Colton Whitehouse hit a home run to right field. They picked up two baserunners, but
Dakodah Jones was able to retire the side, using one caught stealing and a couple of groundouts to escape the inning.
Inside the Boxscore
- Orr finished the game 4-4 with three runs batted in. He now has a team-high six RBI this season.
- Jones pitched five innings in his first appearance of the season, allowing one run on three hits.
Cohen Bell came on and threw three scoreless innings, recording three strikeouts and allowing no hits.
