Box Score WEATHERFORD – Northeastern State outhit Southwestern Oklahoma but four runs in the first two innings was enough Wednesday afternoon to hold off the RiverHawks 6-3.

How it Happened
Southwestern wasted no time in scoring, as Adam Theis drew a leadoff walk then scored on a triple off the bat of Miguel Soto. Drew White drove him in with an RBI groundout to make it 2-0.  Soto picked up two more RBI in the next inning when he singled to right field to score Taylan Mullins-Ohm and Zach Baxley.

NSU picked up a pair of their own in the fourth when Chaz Orr doubled to left-center field to score Blake Freeman. Orr would score a few batters later when Nic Swanson hit a ground ball to the shortstop for the first out of the inning.

The Bulldogs got one of those runs back in the bottom of the inning when Jackson Dietel reached on an error, allowing Soto to score and give SWOSU a three-run lead.

Orr picked up his second RBI of the day in the fifth when he singled through the left side to score Jaxon Phipps and bring NSU back to within two. The Bulldogs responded in the sixth when Soto singled to left field, scoring Theis.

Inside the Box Score
- Orr led the way for NSU at the plate, going 2-3 with one run scored and two runs batted in. The junior now has seven RBI on the season to lead the team.
- Connor Bell pitched two innings in relief, allowing one run and one hit with one strikeout. Colt Browne pitched one scoreless inning as well.

Up Next: The RiverHawks will host Oklahoma Baptist on Tuesday in their home opener at Rousey Field. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
