TAHLEQUAH -- Northeastern State will take their shortest road trip Thursday to Rogers State and will look to upend the Hillcats on their pitch before returning home Saturday to start up a three-match homestand to face #24-ranked Southern Nazarene.
The RiverHawks (4-4) won their first two matches to open GAC/MIAA play with shutout wins over Harding and Ouachita Baptist. Jason Rivera scored game-winning goals in both victories and has a four-match streak with a goal. For his efforts, Rivera was named GAC/MIAA Co-Offensive Player of the Week.
Niklas Kirhoff earned two shutouts at goal and was GAC/MIAA Goalkeeper of the Week.
History with the Hillcats
Northeastern State will look to avenge a 1-0 spring loss in the GAC/MIAA Championship and their first victory in Claremore. The RiverHawks trail the overall series 5-2-1, with the two teams meeting in the post-season during the last two seasons.
Scouting the Hillcats (4-2-1, 0-1-0 GAC/MIAA)
- Rogers State climbed as high as ninth in the nation before going 1-2-1 in their last four contests.

The NSU/SNU rivalry is the oldest and fiercest series for Northeastern State, dating back to 1981. Southern Nazarene largely controlled the NAIA history of the series winning 27 of the first 30 contests. Northeastern State has dominated the recent history, winning 20 of the last 22 games.
Scouting the Crimson Storm
- SNU cracked the top-25 in the United Soccer Coaches' Poll for the first time as an NCAA Division II member this week.
- Like the RiverHawks they went 2-0 to open GAC/MIAA play beating Harding and Ouachita Baptist.
