TAHLEQUAH – Northeastern State is slated to play six games in the next four days at home, welcoming Central Missouri and Lincoln for MIAA play and Bacone on Monday as a late addition to the season schedule.
The RiverHawks opened its ten-game homestand, winning three-of-four, splitting with Missouri Southern, and sweeping Pittsburg State.
Gail Young spun NSU's first seven-inning no-hitter since April 2005 with a 4-0 win over Pitt to highlight the weekend.
Northeastern State has split its last two meetings with Central Missouri winning the front game of the doubleheader. The Jennies are 9-22 (2-6 MIAA) this season and hosted the RiverHawks on March 19-20 for four games in a regional crossover. At the plate, UCM is batting .264 and has been limited to nine homers. Its pitching staff allows 4.36 runs per game, with batters hitting .302 against them.
Lincoln will face Rogers State before visiting NSU. The Blue Tigers are 11-16 (0-8 MIAA), with all its losses this year being to NCAA Division II programs. Lincoln bats .309 as a team with its pitching allowing 4.90 runs. NSU is 18-1 all-time when facing Lincoln and holds a 16-0 mark in MIAA play.
The RiverHawks close out the homestand with Bacone, who was added to the schedule Monday. The contest will be an exhibition for the Warriors, who last played NSU in 2020. The weather has not done Bacone any favors this year with 18 postponements or cancelations.
