TAHLEQUAH – Northeastern State takes a four-game win streak on the road to face Fort Hays State for a three games series starting on Friday.

The RiverHawks are coming off a 13-3 midweek win over Northwestern Oklahoma, where they pelted four homers on the Rangers in a seven-inning mercy-ruled contest. Holding a 22-12 record and an 11-9 mark in the MIAA, Northeastern State is fighting its way to climb up the standings where they are just two games back of third place.

Like the 2021 postseason, the top four teams in the MIAA standings will host the opening round.

Fort Hays State enters the series on a ten-game skid with a 3-29 overall mark and is 2-18 in the MIAA. The Tigers have been shutout for three consecutive games and have come on the wrong end of one-run MIAA setbacks on four occasions. On the field, Fort Hays State is in the basement in batting average and earned run average.

All-time against Fort Hays, the RiverHawks are 18-5 and have won 12 consecutive against the Tigers.

A handful of RiverHawks are in the race for statistical championships; Blake Freeman is second in the nation in hits with 57, while C.D. White is fifth nationally with 55. Brock Reller is third in total bases (3), fourth in homers (15) and triples (6), and seventh in RBI (48). Matt Kaiser is sixth nationally in home runs with 14.

As a team, Northeastern State is sixth nationally with 60 home runs and seventh with 85 stolen bases.
