JOPLIN, Mo. – No. 17 ranked Missouri Southern scored eight runs in the fifth inning and beat Northeastern State 14-4 in seven innings Friday evening.
C.D. White went 4-for-4 at the plate with a double.

Ty Van Meter all hit homers for the RiverHawks as they drop to 18-22 (12-16 MIAA).
Northeastern State pulled even at 2-2 in the fourth, with Van Meter hitting his fourth long ball of the season. The Lions broke the tie in the fifth with back-to-back bombs, and it opened the floodgates with 12 batters coming to the plate.
Down 12-2 in the seventh, the RiverHawks plated a pair with Graff hitting a 1-2 pitch over the right center field wall. Later in the inning, White brought in
Brayden Rodden on a double to center. Missouri Southern (35-10, 22-6 MIAA) finished NSU off in the bottom half scoring a run on a wild pitch and a single to left center.
The RiverHawks continues its series Saturday in Joplin with a 1 p.m. first pitch.
