TAHLEQUAH – Northeastern State opens a 12-game homestand this weekend, where they will host Northwest Missouri and Missouri Western at RiverHawks Park.
Friday evening's doubleheader with Northwest Missouri starts at 4 p.m., and the RiverHawks will be in their pink uniforms for the first time this season as part of its Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. The RiverHawks (20-15) are 8-3 overall on their home field and will look to climb the MIAA ladder holding a 2-8 mark.
Northeastern State leads the MIAA by ten with 51 home runs in 2023 and has three batters in the top four in long balls.
Chloe Bohuslavicky places the field with 14,
Savannah Evans is third with ten, and
Addy Wolfe is tied for fourth with nine.
Raegan Edwards is inside the top ten and is tied for eighth with seven.
Northwest Missouri (20-16, 5-7 MIAA) has split its last three doubleheaders and won the opening game over #15-ranked Washburn at home last Saturday. Olivia Daugherty bats .424 and leads the Bearcats with 11 home runs.
Missouri Western (25-10, 7-5 MIAA) will be in Claremore Saturday to see Rogers State before facing the RiverHawks. The Griffons hold the second-lowest earned run average (2.08) in the MIAA and have struck out 231 batters.
