Yuki Yubunaka scored his first career goal in the 80th minute as Northeastern State earned a 1-1 draw at No. 24 Rogers State on Thursday evening. The draw is the first for the RiverHawks at Rogers State as they move to 2-6-4 (2-3-1 GAC/MIAA).
Northeastern State didn't get credited for a shot-on-goal until the 78th minute and had an opportunity to pull off the win in the final minute off an attempt from
Javier Solis.
Rogers State (4-4-4, 4-0-2 GAC/MIAA) held the lead for over 60 minutes until Yubunaka who came off the bench for the first time nearly two weeks and found a strike just six minutes after reentering the match.
Donovan Aparicio earned his first assist since 2022.
Northeastern State had 16 shots with
Braxton Bulman and
Kei Nagakura both having four.
Gonzalo Castells logged in a season-high six saves with the Hillcats making 21 shot attempts.
The RiverHawks head to Ouachita Baptist on Saturday for continued GAC/MIAA action at 2 p.m.
