TAHLEQUAH -- A pair of second half goals lifted #21 Southern Nazarene past Northeastern State, who suffered their first shutout since Sep. 12 in a 2-nil defeat.
NSU (2-6-3, 2-3 GAC/MIAA) held the Crimson Storm (7-3-1, 4-1 GAC/MIAA) without a make in the opening half, but an unlucky bounce off a free kick in the 58th minute changed the offensive fortunes of the visiting side. Southern Nazarene would go on to apply further offense in the closing minutes with a goal in the 89th.Â
The RiverHawks out-shot the competition 13-9, with six on-goal attempts to SNU's five.
Kei Nagakura led the starting eleven with three tries, while
Carter Adams matched his total off the bench.
Mario Sapena additionally provided two attempts.Â
