TAHLEQUAH -- Northeastern State was dealt a loss on their final night of home soccer action during the 2024 season with a 1-0 defeat to Rogers State Thursday night.
The RiverHawks (2-8-7, 2-5-4 GAC/MIAA) held the shot advantage across both halves, logging 12 attempts on the night compared to Rogers State's seven. However, the Hillcats (7-5-5, 7-1-3) were the ones to secure the match's only conversion, striking in the 57th minute on an assisted score.Â
Matheus Possamai led the team with three tries, while
Donovan Aparicio was the only NSU player to record two shots on goal among the team's five overall.
Gonzalo Castells made two saves in his final home start with the program. Castells and Aparicio were honored as part of the Senior Night festivities alongside

Mario Sapena,
Ivan Lopez,
Luis Felipe Karam,
Assanie Brown and
William De Dios.
The season wraps up for the team on Sunday when they have a 1:30 p.m. kickoff against Harding in Searcy, Ark.
