RiverHawks fall twice

BETHANY, Okla. – Northeastern State fell twice on their final day in Bethany.  The RiverHawks dropped a 5-2 result to Southeastern and lost 9-1 to hosts Southern Nazarene.

In the opener, NSU tied the Savage Storm at 2-2 in the sixth on an Addy Wolfe RBI single.  Southeastern (6-6) pulled back ahead in the bottom half of the inning scoring the go-ahead run on an infield error by NSU.  The Savage Storm plated two more on a two-out single to center field.

The RiverHawks out-hit Southeastern 8-to-4 but NSU issued nine walks.  Baylea Smith and Allison Zanca had two-hit games at the plate.

In the nightcap, Brynn Burchfield had two hits from the leadoff spot and scored NSU's lone run in the third inning.  Southern Nazarene (6-6) plated a run in all but the fourth inning as they would run-rule the RiverHawks in the sixth inning.

NSU drops to 3-9 overall and has lost its last eight contests, they will host Missouri S&T on Monday for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. The contest is a late add for both programs after NSU had four games canceled due to weather.
