GAME ONE - Northeastern State 8, Henderson State 1
Drew Hawkins drove in four runs on three hits to lead Northeastern State past Henderson State 8-1 on Saturday. Hawkins hit a home run to left field in the fourth inning, scoring three runs, and tripled in the second inning, scoring one.
Henderson State (1-3) opened the scoring in the first after a passed ball scored one run.
Hawkins tripled, which helped Northeastern State tie the game at one in the top of the second.
Northeastern State took the lead in the top of the third.
Emily Sampson singled, scoring one run, to give Northeastern State the advantage, 2-1.
The RiverHawks (3-1) plated three runs in the top of the fourth on a home run to left field by Hawkins.
Madison Heinle (2-0) earned the win for Northeastern State. The right-handed pitcher allowed two hits and one run (zero earned) over six innings, striking out five and walking one.
GAME TWO - Northeastern State 16, Ouachita Baptist 13
Addy Wolfe scored four runs and homered as Northeastern State out-slugged Ouachita Baptist late 16-13 in the nightcap. The contest was moved to Henderson State's field following morning rain in the Arkadelphia area.Â
Northeastern State opened the scoring in the second after Ally Zanca hit a solo home run to center field. A passed ball extended the NSU lead to 2-0 in the top of the third inning.
Ouachita Baptist (0-3) captured the lead, 3-2, in the bottom of the third after Karley Burrow singled, Kennedy Wilkie singled, and Riley Gillis singled, each scoring one run.
The RiverHawks jumped back into the lead in the top of the sixth inning after
Emily Sampson doubled,
Raegan Edwards singled, Zanca walked,
Vic Leslie walked,
Macie Sawney walked, and
Lexi Hannah walked, each scoring one run.
Northeastern State added eight more runs in the top of the seventh inning on three hits.

Baylea Smith drew a walk, scoring one, Hannah drew a walk, scoring one run, Sampson doubled, scoring three runs, and Wolfe homered to left field, scoring two runs.
Ouachita Baptist returned the favor scoring eight runs on seven hits in the bottom of the seventh inning but the rally would be too late for the Tigers.
Madison Heinle (3-0) earned the win for Northeastern State. The righty allowed seven hits and eight runs (six earned) over four innings, striking out four and walking one.
Elisha Stilwell began the game and gave up seven hits and five runs over three innings, striking out one and walking four.
Wolfe, Sampson, and Zanca each collected two hits for Northeastern State Softball. Sampson went 2-for-3 at the plate as the catcher led the team with four runs batted in. Northeastern State had patience at the plate, amassing 19 walks for the game. Edwards, Wolfe, and Hannah led the team with three bases on balls each.
