TOPEKA, Kan. – Northeastern State fell twice on Saturday and was limited to one run at Washburn. The Ichabods scored twice in the final two innings to overtake NSU 2-1 in the opener and later shut out NSU 3-0 in the nightcap.
The losses send NSU to 5-18 overall and 0-6 in MIAA play.

Allison Zanca in from second. The lead would be shortlived for the RiverHawks, and Washburn pulled even in the bottom half of the inning on a solo shot to right center.
After the RiverHawks went down in order in the sixth, Washburn (23-9, 4-4 MIAA) got back-to-back hits with two outs to score the go-ahead run on a double.
Northeastern State was limited to four hits and struck out 12 times.
Madison Heinle (5-9) had a complete game and had three strikeouts.
In the nightcap, the RiverHawks had three hits, with Zanca having a pair of doubles.
Korynn Tindel (0-5) kept the Ichabods scoreless until the fifth where NSU's defense allowed two unearned runs to come home. Washburn scored one more in the sixth off a one-out homer. Tindel allowed just four hits and struck out three batters.
The RiverHawks return home on Friday where they will host Pittsburg State.
