Gage Williams had his twelfth multi-RBI game but the RiverHawks could not contain Northwestern Oklahoma's offense Tuesday in a 24-14 loss at Thomas C. Rousey Field.
Northeastern State dropped its sixth consecutive game and is now 19-24 overall despite having a 5-0 lead through three innings.
The Rangers batted through its lineup for three consecutive innings scoring 20 runs between the fourth and sixth. NSU fended off being run-ruled in the seventh with
Ty Van Meter hitting a solo homer and Williams clearing the bases to make it a 20-13 Northwestern lead.
Northwestern Oklahoma (28-15) extended their lead back out to 11 in the eighth with the RiverHawks getting a pinch-hit homer from
Brooks Miller in the bottom frame.
Williams had four RBI and a pair of hits.
Tyson Fourkiller and
Drew Miller landed three hits, and
C.D. White scored two runs on a double and had two base knocks.
Matt Kaiser pushed his hitting streak to eight games with a single in the fifth.
Austin Albright homered and scored three runs.
The RiverHawks head on the road this Friday for a three-game MIAA series with Northwest Missouri.
