TAHLEQUAH -- Northeastern State fought Lubbock Christian in their first-ever encounter to a scoreless draw Thursday night at DeLoache Field, with both offenses shut out over the full time.
The RiverHawks outshot the Chaps 13-8, with four shots on-goal to LCU's three.
Gonzalo Castells made three saves in front of the net for NSU to keep the hosts from entering a deficit, while
Carl Murch led the RiverHawks offensively with three shots as one of four players on Northeastern State's side with multiple attempts. The draw places NSU at 0-2-1, while LCU moves to 1-1-1.
NSU's three-match homestand wraps up Saturday with a 3 p.m. start against Eastern New Mexico at DeLoache Field.
