MARYVILLE, Mo. - Northwest Missouri scored a go-ahead goal with just under four minutes remaining to hand Northeastern State a 2-1 road setback on Sunday.
The RiverHawks (6-2, 0-2 MIAA) suffered its second consecutive loss and its third in a row to the Bearcats (3-2-3, 1-1 MIAA)
Northeastern State connected in the final two minutes of the first half with Brynn Baldon scoring her third of the season off a corner kick. Kaylee Foster earned her first career assist with NSU having seven on-target attempts at goal through the opening 45 minutes.
Northwest Missouri controlled the RiverHawks in the second half and outshot them 12-to-8. The Bearcats found an equalizer with 16 minutes left to play and pulled ahead at the 86:55 mark. Sydney Taylor paced the RiverHawks with five shots-on-goal and had two of those in the final 1:15 of the match.
The RiverHawks return home to host Missouri Southern for continued MIAA play on Oct. 4 at 7 p.m.
