2016 - Made seven appearances off of the bench...threw three completions with a touchdown, and 69 yards in the air at Missouri Western State on Oct. 1...one week later he came in during the second half and went 4-for-7 with a touchdown at home vs. Emporia State on Oct. 8...longest pass of th season was 42 yards against Missouri Western State...named to MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

2015 - Appeared in seven games and made two starts...was 13-for-39 (33.3 percent) passing for 212 yards, two touchdown...most single-game completions (7), attempts (12), yards (106) and touchdowns (1) were all against Emporia State in a reserve appearance...also threw a TD against Central Oklahoma and had a season-long pass of 54 yards...made starts against Missouri Western State and Northwest Missouri State.
 
Background – Transfered from Missouri State as a redshirt...was a 2013 all-state honoree for coach Nick Codutti at Marshfield High... passed for 3,172 yards and 33 touchdowns, while rushing for 900 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior...had career-high 430-yard passing game as a senior...finished career with 8,758 passing yards and 80 touchdowns along with 9,719 yards of total offense...earned Springfield News-Leader male athlete of the year honors for 2013-14 and was selected to play in the 2014 Grin Iron Classic...was also a three-time All-Central Ozarks Conference and two-time all-district selection.

Personal –  Majoring in health and physical education...son of Kevin and Deb Armstrong... born Oct. 24, 1995...grandfather, Jerry Armstrong, played basketball at Texas Western, for the team featured in the movie “Glory Road”.
