NORTHEASTERN STATE COACH CHASE WOOTEN
Statement…
"Our group overall has done a nice job. Tonight I thought we played much than we have in recent matches. Emporia State is a good team. They caused some problems for us in the second half. It was an emotional day for us because it was Senior Day, but I thought we started well in the second half. I was really proud of the effort tonight. I don't think we played our best game Monday. The girls got refocused a little bit. A lot of credit goes
Madison Dobbs and
Anastasia Robinson who have stepped up for us recently. Overall, I think our group battled hard and played clean soccer when we needed to. We found some space behind and we used our athleticism."
Â
On setting the school record for wins in a season…
"I'm proud of the group. There is a lot of work that goes into something like this. If you're looking at how a school does something like this, you have to look at all the factors, starting from the administration supporting your program. We have stayed committed despite some rocky roads this season. We know we're not done yet, however. We have big things that we want to accomplish this season. We know we have a special group of older kids and a nice blend of younger kids. I'm happy to be a part of this, and it's just a reflection of the hard work of the girls."
