Sophomore David Weber singled to start off the game, and he later scored on a sacrifice fly by junior Cody Robinson. The nine-inning affair started off slow, as neither team scored in the first four innings. Sophomore Tyler Wilkins changed that in the top of the fifth when he was driven home by a sac fly from senior Kegan Knight. Washburn answered with two in the bottom of the fifth, and neither team scored in the sixth.

Northeastern State was able to generate five runs in the seventh and seize control of the game.

The frame began with a Wilkins single. He was sacrificed to second by Weber, and senior Chad Davidson reached base after being hit by a pitch. Knight sent a ball over the left field wall for the first three runs of the inning, and senior Trent Wilkins blasted a homer of his own two batters later to send the RiverHawks on to the two-game sweep.

NSU outhit Washburn 10-5, led by two each from Weber and the Wilkins brothers. Knight drove home four and Tyler Wilkins scored twice.
