NORTHEASTERN STATE COACH TRAVIS JANSSEN
On Central Missouri…
“They're just so solid. They do everything well. They throw a ton of strikes, they compete and they swing the bats. They are a very well-rounded team. They're ranked No. 5 in the nation, and that is well deserved. Central Missouri is a program that has a lot of character and they carry themselves the right way.”
On how the team played over the three-game series…
“I told our guys that I hope winning games against teams like (Central Missouri) is the expectation. I hope we're not happy with just competing, but they definitely competed today. We swung the bats well. I was happy today with the exception of the ninth inning.”
On the ninth inning…
“The biggest factor in the ninth inning was that Central Missouri didn't quit. There are a lot of teams that would be packing their bags when they are down by four with one inning left, but they didn't do that. We just couldn't get those last two outs.”
On Cody Robinson…
“Cody had two home runs and four runs batted in today. He's swinging the bat and doing a great job for us. He's providing a good punch for us in the middle of the order, and we hope that continues.”
