TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – The Northeastern State men's basketball team is set to play in the Arkansas Tech Thanksgiving Classic. The RiverHawks (1-3) will take on Arkansas Tech (2-3) at 6 p.m. Nov. 28 before playing Ouachita Baptist (3-0) at 2 p.m. Nov. 29.
This will be the 10th meeting between the RiverHawks and Wonder Boys since 2004, with Arkansas Tech holding a 7-2 series advantage. NSU and OBU last met in the 2008-09 season, when the Tigers earned a 59-54 victory.

SCOUTING THE WONDER BOYSArkansas Tech is located in Russellville, Arkansas, and the team competes in the Great American Conference. The Wonder Boys have posted a 2-3 record on the young season, beating Wayne State and Cameron, while falling to Southwest Minnesota State, Pittsburg State and Angelo State. Arkansas Tech was picked to finish first in the preseason GAC poll, picking up eight first-place votes. Mike Balogun (14.0 ppg) and Clarence Willard (11.6 ppg) are the leading scorers, and Nick Wayman (4.6 rpg) leads the squad in rebounding. The Wonder Boys are averaging 69.6 points per game and shooting .433 as a team.

SCOUTING THE TIGERSOuachita Baptist University is located in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, and the team competes in the Great American Conference. The Tigers are 3-0 in the 2014-15 season, defeating Baptist Bible, Texas A&M-Commerce and Champions Baptist. They were picked to finish seventh in the preseason GAC poll. Tirrell Brown leads the way for OBU, averaging 21.5 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game. Colt Fason leads the team in rebounding with 7.3 per game. The Tigers average 95.0 points per game and shoot .510 as a team.

NSU SELECTED 12TH IN MIAA PRESEASON POLLSThe Northeastern State men's basketball team was picked to finish 12th in the MIAA by the league coaches. The RiverHawks earned 39 points and are projected to finish just inside the cut line for the MIAA Championship tournament in May. Central Missouri topped the coaches' poll with 151 points total and 10 first-place votes a year removed from winning the national championship. Northeastern State finished 16-13 last season and 9-10 in the MIAA. NSU also lost head coach Larry Gipson, who retired at the end of the season. Senior forward

SEASON TICKETS ON SALEThe NSU Athletics Department announced its season ticket packages for the home portion of the men's and women's basketball schedule. Adult general admission tickets can be purchased for $125, and the season chair back seats are $200. Season ticket holders receive the benefit of sitting in comfortable chair back seats. They also receive first option to purchase playoff tickets, premier seating for NSU's 24 home contests and an excellent view of the 78,200 square foot multipurpose event center. The 2014 campaign will mark the second year of the $25 single-game Family 4-pack, which includes two general admission adult tickets and two general admission student tickets (ages 4 through high school). The Family 4-Pack may be purchased at any time and used at any regular season home game.
