TicketsTAHLEQUAH, Okla. – The
Northeastern State RiverHawks (0-1, 0-1 MIAA) will host the
Fort Hays State Tigers (0-1, 0-1 MIAA) in the MIAA TV Game of the Week. The contest will also be Family Weekend at NSU. Kickoff is set for 2:07 p.m. (CT) Sept. 13 at Doc Wadley Stadium (8,300) in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
The game can be heard live on KEOK 102.1 FM in Tahlequah with Bill Huddleston and Sean Rowley providing commentary . . . a free audio broadcast can be found at goriverhawksgo.com . . . the game will also be streamed live on Stretch Internet (http://portal.stretchinternet.com/nsu/, subscription based) . . . the MIAA TV Network can be viewed in Oklahoma on Cox Communications, which serves the Tulsa and Oklahoma City markets . . . a football-only season pass is available for $69.95, and a day pass can be purchased for $9.95.
GAME NOTESTHE MATCHUP . . . Saturday's contest will be just the third meeting all-time between Northeastern State and Fort Hays State . . . the RiverHawks hold a 2-0 advantage in the series . . . the two teams locked up for the first time in their respective histories in 1989, with NSU securing a narrow 16-14 victory . . . Northeastern State won the return contest a year later by a 37-7 score . . . this will be the first meeting between the two programs as members of the same conference.

THE HEAD COACHES . . . NSU's
ROB ROBINSON (William Jewell, '00) is in his first season as the RiverHawks head coach . . . he was named the 19th head football coach in school history on Dec. 19, 2013 . . . he owns a 0-1 all-time record . . . Robinson spent the previous 12 years under Craig Schurig as a member of the Washburn Ichabod coaching staff, serving as the offensive coordinator for the last four seasons . . . he also directed the running backs from 2007-13 and coached the wide receivers from 2002-06 . . . he served as the recruiting coordinator from 2002-10 and was the academic coordinator from 2010-13 . . . Robinson was an integral member of a Washburn staff that completely turned around the Ichabod program . . . Washburn averaged 3.3 wins from 1989-03 and had just one winning season, but the Ichabods averaged 7.9 wins from 2004-13 and posted 10 straight winning campaigns . . . Robinson is the second former coordinator under Schurig's tutelage to become the head coach of another program, joining Fort Hays State's Chris Brown . . . Robinson spent the 2001 season at Pittsburg State as a graduate assistant, coaching the defensive backs with Ichabod head coach Craig Schurig . . . the Gorillas won the MIAA Championship that year.
FHSU's
CHRIS BROWN (Pittsburg State, '96) is in his fourth season as head coach of the Tigers . . . he owns a 15-19 overall record . . . Brown came to Fort Hays State from Washburn University, where he served as the defensive coordinator and defensive secondary coach from 2002-10 and assistant head coach in 2010 . . . the Tigers posted a 6-5 overall mark in 2013 for the school's first winning season since 2009 . . . FHSU went 4-7 in Brown's first year and followed that with a 5-6 mark in 2012 before the most recent record of 6-5, showing a one-win improvement in each year at the helm . . . FHSU enjoyed its most All-MIAA selections under Brown in 2013 with 12 (5 defense, 5 offense, and 2 special teams) . . . he has coached 28 All-MIAA selections at Fort Hays State, including two first-team selections in 2011 . . . before coming to Hays, Brown helped Washburn compile a 62-41 record in his nine-year span with the program, which included two NCAA playoff appearances and two bowl wins . . . in his time at Washburn, Brown coached the 2009 and 2006 MIAA Most Valuable Defensive Players and guided two players selected in the NFL Draft (defensive tackle Trey Lewis-6th round 2007, and cornerback Cary Williams-7th round 2008).
THE SEASON OPENER . . . Northeastern State opened the 2014 season against No. 9 Pittsburg State University for the third year in a row . . . the
Rob Robinson debut was seen by the fourth-largest crowd in Carnie Smith Stadium history (10,814) . . .
Steffon Herd made his first start on the defensive side of the ball and finished the game with a team-high eight tackles . . . six different RiverHawks made their first start in the green and white, and those were

Garrett Powell,
Dakota Ritchie,
Tyler Easter,
Kevin Pantastico and
Michael Davis . . . the contest also marked the first time NSU was shutout since Sept. 5, 2009 . . . the NSU defense held Jeff Seybold to a career-low 14 yards rushing . . . Seybold was an All-MIAA First Team member a year ago . . . the RiverHawks also had more fourth-down conversions (3-for-5) than third-down conversions (2-for-16).
ROBINSON ON THE RADIO . . . Northeastern State football coach
Rob Robinson, in conjunction with Lakes Country 102.1 FM, has announced the debut of the new
Rob Robinson Coaches Show . . . the weekly show will be held at Mazzio's Pizza in Tahlequah on Thursday nights at 6 p.m., beginning Sept. 4 and running through the end of the football season . . . the host of the coaches show will be Matt Reynolds . . . Robinson will be live each week highlighting last week's contest and previewing NSU's upcoming MIAA matchup . . . various assistant coaches and players will join the show throughout the season . . . NSU encourages students, faculty and fans to come out and support the RiverHawks football program every Thursday night at Mazzio's . . . Mazzio's is located at 1712 S. Muskogee Avenue . . . all 11 Northeastern State football games will also be broadcast live on 102.1 FM this season.
MIAA, NSU PARTNER WITH STRETCH INTERNET FOR 2014 . . . The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association has announced a partnership with Stretch Internet® to provide streaming of conference events, beginning in 2014 . . . Stretch partners with the league and members institutions to broadcast all conference football and men's and women's basketball games, as well as selected other conference events . . . fans will be able to view all conference football and basketball games live through almost any internet connected device, including Smart TV's, Apple TV and Google Chromecast . . . the new GameCentral 2.0 platform will also allow fans to access live stats in the video stream . . . the new platform also features archived games and other video content.
STRETCH INTERNET TO BROADCAST NSU THIS SEASON . . . The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced distribution partners and price points for the MIAA Television Network . . . fans can access the web streams through either from the league portal or from goriverhawksgo.com . . . beginning Sept. 4, fans will be able to purchase a day pass for $9.95, and they also have the option of purchasing a football season pass for $69.95 . . . fans may purchase a season pass for volleyball for $44.95 with men's and women's basketball season passes being available for $89.95 each . . . fans wishing to have access to all MIAA web streaming content can purchase an All-Access pass for $149.95 . . . the MIAA also announced several returning distribution partners as well as two new distribution partners who have joined the network for the 2014 season.

• KGCS-TV in Joplin, Missouri. KGCS-TV is a broadcast station licensed to Missouri Southern State University that serves more than 167,000 households across a region including southwest Missouri, as well as parts of southeast Kansas and northeast Oklahoma.
SEASON TICKETS ON SALE . . . Season ticket packages are now on sale for the five-game home portion of the upcoming football schedule . . . prices begin as low as $40 per person for an adult general admission ticket . . . season chair back seats begin at $100 each, and additional seats after purchasing four are $90 each . . . season ticket holders receive the benefit of sitting in comfortable chair back seat . . . they also receive first option to purchase playoff tickets, premier seating for NSU's five home MIAA contests, excellent view of the playing surface and an optimal view of the halftime show featuring the NSU Band . . . the 2014 campaign will mark the second year of the $25 single-game Family 4-Pack, which includes two general admission adult tickets and two general admission student tickets (ages 4 through high school) . . . the Family 4-Pack may be purchased at any time and used at any regular season home game . . . all Northeastern State home football games are contested at Doc Wadley Stadium . . . also for convenience, the Athletics Department will continue utilizing online ticketing for football and basketball . . . online ticketing will allow for advanced ticket sales . . . for questions regarding ticket options, please contact
