NORTHEASTERN STATE COACH ROB CZLONKA
Opening Statement…
"We didn't have our best stuff today. The wind was a bit of a problem at times, but we caused our own issues. They scored on us early in the second half, and we quickly answered. I thought we would be fine after that, but they were able to get another one. I'm happy we were able to do enough to get past this team. (Upper Iowa) battled very hard. They were well organized and very well coached. I would expect them to be a major contender in the MIAA this year."

On the goals…
"Frank (Garay) served a well-placed ball into the box, and Crosby nailed a good header home. (Chris) Mendez finished a second chance opportunity. Johnny (Guzman's) goal was awesome. He megged the defender and struck a ball that went into the upper 90 on the far right post. We've been pushing Johnny to be more attack-minded, and that was exactly what we were wanting from him."
