TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – The Northeastern State women's soccer team will remain on the road for a pair of non-conference matches against MIAA opponents. First the team will meet rival Central Oklahoma at 4 p.m. Sept. 17 in Edmond, Oklahoma. The RiverHawks will then travel to Joplin, Missouri, to face Missouri Southern State at 1 p.m. Sept. 19.
The RiverHawks have had a stellar start to the season with an unblemished 4-0-0 mark. The team has yet to concede a goal and has outscored its opponents 19-0. Northeastern State leads opponents in shots on goal 66-4. NSU's scoring has been incredibly balanced, with 11 players finding the back of the net so far this season. Junior

Julia Mathis has a team-best four assists. Through four matches, goalkeeper
Jordan Woodruff has saved all four shots on goal she has faced. She was recently honored as the MIAA Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week.
Scouting the Bronchos?The University of Central Oklahoma Bronchos compete in the MIAA along with NSU. UCO is 2-2-0 this season and is coming off a 2-0 win over Southern Nazarene University. The most dangerous scorer for the Bronchos this year has been freshman midfielder Kentia Kokis. Kokis leads the teams with three goals, and she also has an assist. Freshman forward Katie Killion leads the Bronchos in shots on goal with eight. Central Oklahoma goalkeeper Elle Stover has allowed six goals and has made 15 saves through 214 minutes in net.
Scouting the Lions? Missouri Southern State University also competes in the MIAA. The Lions are 2-2-0 overall with wins over Newman and Rogers State. Junior defender Carly Cecil leads the team in goals scored with two. Cecil was recently named the MIAA Women's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week. Senior forward Karley Thomas is another dangerous scorer for the Lions. Thomas has one goal and two assists this season. Senior goalkeeper Shawnee Phillips has played every minute in goal and has allowed six goals and 18 saves.
