Montre' Williams paces NSU with 14.0 points per game and in his third season has scored 713 points.

Juvon Turner was NSU lone player in double-figures with 12 points against the Gorillas, while
Tyler Williams and
Tanner Mouse both had nine.Â
The contest was a tale of two halves for the RiverHawks were they shot 50-percent (12-24) in the first half and 32-percent (8-25) in the final 20 minutes. Â Pitt State remained consistent from the field shooting 54.1-percent (33-61), with five players in double-figures.
Rebounding and second chance points were favored to the opposition with PSU picking up 40 rebounds with 15 coming from the offensive end; the Gorillas would gather 14 points on their second try at the hoop. Â Northeastern State was limited to 22 rebounds, with six on the offensive side, and had three points on their second chance.Â

The series with Southwest Baptist: Northeastern State leads the all-time series against Southwest Baptist 12-5. The Bearcats claimed a 65-53 victory over NSU earlier this season in Bolivar.
Last time out for Southwest Baptist:Â Mouliom's career high paces SBU as they defeated Emporia State 84-62 to improve to 11-9 (4-7 MIAA) on the season.
Emporia State would start the game on a 6-0 run, but a Brian Patterson layup would start a 13-3 run for the Bearcats. The run would give SBU a 13-9 lead with 12:13 remaining in the half. Emporia would stop the run with a pair of free throws, but Louis Baltazar would hit a layup that would start a 30-9 SBU run. During the run Karim Mouliom would score 10 points, and the Bearcats would get baskets from 7 different players during the run as SBU would take a 22 point lead at 43-21 with 2:23 left in the half. The Hornets would end the half on a 7-4 run and SBU would take a 47-28 lead into the half.
The second half would start with a 7-2 run by Emporia State cutting the SBU lead to 49-35 with 15:31 remaining in the game. Mouliom would start a 7-0 Bearcat run with a layup, followed by a Logan Hovey three, and a Cartree Pettis layup which would extend the SBU lead to 56-35 with 14:02 left in the game. Emporia State would go on an 8-0 run cutting the SBU lead to 58-43, but Matt Ridder would hit a three to end Emporia's run. After a 9-4 Emporia run, Mouliom would hit back-to-back layups and SBU would lead 71-52 with 5:38 remaining in the game. The Bearcats would end the game on a 15-10 run and come away with an 84-62 victory.
The Bearcats were led in scoring by Karim Mouliom who had a career high 24 points. Logan Hovey added 19 while Cartier Dean and Kalund Brown each had 8. Kai Woodfall led the Bearcats with 8 boards, while Hovey had 5 and Mouliom had 4. The Bearcats shot 69.8% from the field, 40.0% from the three point line, and 69.2% from the line.
Scouting Southwest Baptist:Â The Bearcats are 3-4 on the road this season and lead the MIAA with a 8.9 rebounding margin, which is also ninth highest in the nation. Â SBU will foul a lot and they are 20th highest with 442 in 20 games this season. Â Additionally, at the free-throw line the Bearcats are shooting 67.7-percent which is 12th in the MIAA. Â Logan Hovey leads SBU with 12.2 points a game and last time against NSU he had 14.

Cameron Martin scored 14 points for the RiverHawks but Southwest Baptist's second chance points helped lead to a 65-53 road loss on Saturday. Â The Bearcats outscored Northeastern State 17-to-5 on their second chance with the assistance of 13 offensive rebounds.Â

The RiverHawks made nine shots in each half and shot 34-percent (18-53) from the field. Â From long range, they went 2-for-12, and didn't connect in all three opportunities in the second half. Â Southwest Baptist didn't shoot the ball well either going 38.5-percent (20-52) on their side of the floor and went 6-for-23 from long range.Â
