KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Northeastern State University Women's Soccer is picked to finish seventh in the MIAA this season according to the preseason coaches' poll released on Tuesday afternoon.
The RiverHawks went 10-7-2 one season ago and reached the opening round of the MIAA Tournament.
Central Oklahoma is the preseason favorite to win this year's MIAA title with 117 points and seven first-place votes. The Bronchos are ahead Central Missouri by two points with the Jennies winning last year's NCAA Central Region crown.
The RiverHawks return six seniors, including senior
Emily Seiler, who was named a United Soccer Coaches All-Region in 2018. Head Coach
Chase Wooten is in his ninth season as head coach of the RiverHawks.
NSU will open the season on Sept. 5 when they face Ouachita Baptist on the road. The RiverHawks will open their home schedule on Sept. 7 hosting Northwestern Oklahoma at 7 p.m.
