The bats came out hot for both sides in Game 4. With Team Phipps leading the series 2-1 it was a must win game for Team Fehr. It did just that in one run fashion late.
Blaze Brothers sent the first pitch of the game over the left field wall to give Team Phipps and starter
Jon Moll the early 1-0 advantage. It then loaded the bases with no outs still in the first and Jones was able to induce a infield pop out and then back to back strikeouts to keep score within one run. Team Fehr responded in the bottom half with a leadoff double from
Nathan Norris off starter
Dakodah Jones who was driven in by a
Collin Klingensmith single up the middle.
In the top of the second Team Phipps tacked on another to make it 2-1 after a [pair of singles by Cade Gonzales and Brothers.
Brayden Rodden hit a deep sacrifice fly to plate one. The bottom saw the bats come alive for Team Fehr. It took the lead 3-2 on singles from
Tucker Dunlap, CD White and
Matt Kennedy.
Jones settled in nicely with back-to-back zero run innings to hold the lead. The offense continued to push the lead to 8-2. Dunlap and White both had run scoring singles and
Seth Knight had a two RBI double. The eventual decisive eighth run came off of a
Collin Klingensmith triple that scored
Dylan Hight.
Phipps battled back every few innings. In the fifth Team Phipps cut into the lead thanks to a
Jaxon Phipps two run roundtripper making it 8-4. There would be fireworks again in the seventh.
Chaz Orr led off the inning with a 3-0 count HR - his 3rd homer in 4 games. Following a fly out for the first out, Phipps singled and on a 3-2 count
Corbin Lill smoked a home run to bring the score to 8-7.
CD White was called on to get the final two outs and successfully forced a decisive Game 5.
The final game is set for 2:30 on Friday afternoon.
