KANSAS CITY, Mo. –
Jaxon Phipps is one of five baseball student-athletes in the MIAA to earn the association's Academic Excellence Award with 13 being recognized for academic achievements Friday.

Phipps is the third member of the baseball program under MIAA membership to earn the Academic Excellence Award for carrying a 4.0-grade point average.
As a program, the RiverHawks finished the spring with an 3.18 combined grade point average. Â
The following were named the association's honor roll:
Colt Browne,
Lee Callison,
Blake Freeman,
Reid Fehr,
Seth Key,
Bryce Hestand,
Konner Neal,
Wes O'Neill,
Jaxon Phipps,
Jonathan Smithey,
Nolan Sturgeon,
Dylan Thurber, and
Conner West.
A total of over 175 student-athletes across MIAA baseball were named for the 2020 season.

To be recognized on the Academic Honor Roll list, one must have a grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 3.00 or above at the certifying member institution. The individual must also have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.
The MIAAÂ will release Academic Honors all freshman and newcomers at a later date this summer.Â
