EDMOND --
Aitana Hernandez claimed her second medalist title, but Northeastern State stumbled late and finished in sixth place at the Grace Shin Invitational in Edmond.
The RiverHawks were on the heels of the eventual team champions Rogers State and pulled within a stroke before the wheels let go between pins 15 and 17, where they were eight-over-par.
Hernandez shot a one-under 70 for the day and birdied the final hole to finish with a two-day total of 142, beating three others by one stroke.
Kaylee Petersen finished in 12th place, turning in a 147 score (72-75).
Macy Rutland rebounded from her round Monday, matched Petersen's 75, and was tied for 44th, scoring 156 (81-75).
Nina Lee was even-par through 13 but shot a five-over on the final five pins shooting a 76, and was tied for 31st (77-76=153).
Yasmin Hang was a stroke back tied for 47th overall (79-78=157).
Rogers State would shoot a 585 team score beating out Nebraska-Kearney by three strokes. With all 11 MIAA teams in the field, NSU was the fifth-best finisher of that group.
The RiverHawks will be in action this Sunday for the Centra Region Preview in Hot Springs, Ark.
