ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -- Northeastern State Women's Golf will make their 19th trip to the NCAA postseason Monday for a three-day regional at the St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Mo.
The RiverHawks are the No. 3 seed and will start on the first pin starting at 8:40 a.m. alongside Arkansas Tech and Central Oklahoma. They will be vying for a top-three finish to qualify for the NCAA National Championships the following week. The event will be at the TPC Michigan in Detroit.
St. Joseph Country Club is a par-72, 5941 yardage course. Northeastern State finished runner-up in the Region Preview in late March, with freshman
Yasmin Hang taking medalist honors.
With the postseason field trimmed this season, only nine times and four individuals will be competing. Down from 12 with NSU hosted the last regional in 2019.
Northeastern State will bring the same five golfers to St. Joseph with
Aitana Hernandez,
Nina Lee,
Yasmin Hang,
Kaylee Petersen, and
Kelly Swanson. This will be the first NCAA postseason for Hang and Swanson. Petersen was at the NCAA Central Regional in 2019 was a member of Southern Nazarene's squad. Hernandez and Lee were part of NSU's 2019 roster that advanced to the NCAA National Championships in Florida.
