Edra Luster signs with NSU

TAHLEQUAH -- Northeastern State has added 7-footer Edra Luster to the 2021-22 roster head coach Ja Havens announced Wednesday.

Luster signs with NSU as a graduate transfer after spending the last two seasons at NCAA Division I East Carolina, where he played in 21 games and made five starts.

"Edra will bring a much-needed dimension to our roster by providing size and physicality in the post," said Havens. "He has great feet and hands, possesses a high basketball IQ, and has excellent mobility and length. We are confident that Edra is capable of stepping in and contributing immediately on both ends of the floor, and he is hungry to make an impact and compete at a high level."

During the 2019-20 season at ECU, Luster made five consecutive starts for the Pirates, where they went 4-1 during that stretch.  As a senior, Luster was limited in action and made his season debut on Jan. 24 against Memphis, recording one rebound, one assist, and one steal in 11 minutes of action.

Luster spent two seasons (2017-19) at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas, and averaged 5.4 points and 4.9 rebounds in 28 games as a sophomore and posted 4.9 points and 4.7 rebounds as a freshman.

Luster graduated from James Logan High School (Union City, Calif.) and averaged 10.1 points and 8.0 rebounds during his senior year while leading the team to a 2017 Northern California Division I title and an appearance in the state championship game.
