BROKEN ARROW, Okla. -- Northeastern State finished its 22nd Women's Golf Classic with two top-10 finishers but slipped one spot on the leaderboard Tuesday, tied for fourth place out of 16 teams.
The RiverHawks turned in a season-low 298 team score and were 23-over for the tournament with a 598. Â
No team could touch Henderson State who shot an even 576 score and bested second-place finisher Rogers State by 12 strokes.Â
Nina Lee (76-73) and
Yasmin Hang (75-74) paced NSU with a 149, tied for tenth overall.
Kaylee Petersen (76-75) and
Macy Rutland (75-76) were tied for 20th place, scoring a 151.
Aitana Hernandez was tied for 27th (75-77) with a 152.
"Macy (Rutland) has been a standout player for us so far this season, and all four of her scores this season have counted for us," said head coach
Scott Varner. "I'm proud of the effort she has been putting in improving her game since come to us as a freshman last fall."Â Â
Henderson State's Gracen Blount scored a seven-under score in two rounds for a tournament record of 137.
Northeastern State will be off for the next few weeks and returns to the course on Oct. 4-5 to play in Central Oklahoma's tournament in Edmond.Â
