BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. -- Northeastern State shot an even score on the final five pins to move them up two places to finish tied for third in their first tournament of the season carding a 613 (310-303) at the Central Region Fall Preview.
Aitana Hernandez shot a two-under on the back nine and Nina Lee was one-under in her final six holes. Hernandez finished tied for 21st overall carding a 154 (80-74) and Lee was a stoke ahead (78-75) tied for 19th place.
Kaylee Petersen hung around the top three for most of the day but slipped down to a sixth place tie on a 149 score (74-75) for her tenth career top-10 at NSU.
Macy Rutland turned in NSU's fourth counted score of the day with a 79 and was tied for 36th in her career debut carding a 159.
Yasmin Hang was tied for 47th place scoring a 161 (78-83).
Of the eight MIAA programs in the field the RiverHawks were tied with Nebraska-Kearney for the top showing.
Henderson State won the preview by eight shots over Arkansas Tech. Grace Blount from Henderson State took medalist honors by three shots over her teammate Allie Bianchi.
Northeastern State will be in action hosting their 22nd Golf Classic in Broken Arrow on Sept 13 and 14.
