TAHLEQUAH – Northeastern State Women's Tennis convincingly won its MIAA home opener Saturday and downed Fort Hays State 6-1.
NSU moved to 6-4 (1-1 MIAA) with its 11th consecutive victory over the Tigers who fell to 6-7 (0-3 MIAA).

Heaton clinched the match on court five winning her set 6-2 and 6-2.
Leah Gonzales-Edwards claimed court three 6-2, 6-2, and Mari Marti needed a third set to take court two 4-6, 6-4, 10-4.
Northeastern State remains at home to host Nebraska-Kearney on Sunday at 10 a.m.
