WARRENSBURG, Mo. - No. 9 Central Missouri handed Northeastern State its first defeat of the season, 3-1, on Friday evening in both teams' MIAA opener.
The RiverHawks (6-0, 0-1 MIAA) entered the match as one of six remaining undefeated teams in NCAA Division II Women's Soccer.Â
Rachel Reed scored an equalizer in the 46th minute on a pass from Hannah Anderson.  The momentum would be short lived and less than two minutes later the Jennies scored the go-ahead tally on a penalty kick. The foul came off a corner kick for the Jennies.Â
After outshooting the Jennies 12-to-9 in the first half, UCM limited the RiverHawks to five in the final 45 minutes of play.
Sydney Taylor paced the RiverHawks with six shots and Rebecca Partyka had six saves.Â
Central Missouri (4-2-1, 1-0 MIAA) snapped a three-match winless skid with its ninth consecutive win over NSU.
