BOLIVAR, Mo. – The No. 25-ranked Northeastern State men's soccer team posted its largest win of the season, a 5-0 victory over Southwest Baptist Saturday morning at SBU Soccer Field.
The RiverHawks (8-3-2, 5-1-1 MIAA) outshot the Bearcats (2-10-1, 0-6-0 MIAA) 33-8 and received goals from five different members of the team.
Sophomore forward
Juan Peralta put home the game-winning marker in the 14th minute off an assist from sophomore midfielder
Josue Morales.
Senior midfielder
Henry Wildenborg pumped in his second goal of the year in the 25th minute with help from junior midfielder
Edgar Gonzaga.
Freshman defender
Crosby Lee added his first-career goal in the 38th minute off an assist from sophomore midfielder
Adam Schmoker, and Gonzaga's fourth tally of 2012 came unassisted in the 60th minute.
Senior midfielder
Bo White scored his team-leading 10th goal of the year in the 88th minute with help from sophomore midfielder
Jordan Schmoker.
In all, eight different members of the team picked up a point against Southwest Baptist.
Senior goalkeeper
Jordan Ladbrooke played the first 6:22 in net, and freshman
Eric Shephard (2-0) played the final 83:38, earning the win after making three saves.
Gavin Bryant took the loss for the Bearcats after recording eight saves and allowing five goals.
Northeastern State will return to DeLoache Field for a 7 p.m. showdown Oct. 18 against No. 17 Fort Hays State.
