TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – The Northeastern State men's soccer team defeated Upper Iowa University 3-0 Sunday afternoon at DeLoache Field.
The RiverHawks (7-2-0, 4-1-0 MIAA) outshot the road side 30-7, and the Peacocks (3-8-0, 1-4-0 MIAA) were only able to attempt one shot on frame.
Sophomore forward
Juan Peralta gave NSU the early advantage with a goal in the ninth minute. Sophomore midfielders
Jordan Schmoker and
Adam Schmoker picked up assists on the play.
Jordan Schmoker would again find himself in the middle of the action, as his pass 50 seconds into the second half allowed Peralta to score his second goal of the match and his fourth in the last two games. Schmoker has a team-leading six helpers this year.
Senior midfielder
Bo White added to his conference lead in goals when he found the back of the net with 43 seconds to play in the match.
Senior goalkeeper
Jordan Ladbrooke (6-2-0) collected his second-straight clean sheet after making one save against the Peacocks. Jordan Bell (3-8-0) made nine saves and allowed three goals for the road side.
NSU will now travel to Incarnate Word for a 5 p.m. matchup Oct. 5.
