NORTHEASTERN STATE COACH AMANDA STONE
On bouncing back following the loss to Southwest Baptist…
“That loss really showed a lot of things we needed to work on. We were pretty fired up in doubles today. We didn't like that we were swept in doubles by Southwest Baptist because of how hard we've been working.”
On Barbora Jirickova and Martina Bruzikova getting a solid doubles win…
“Barb and Tina getting an 8-0 win was really good for their confidence. I think they have been held back a little because they don't understand just how good they can be as a team. Sometimes they get down on themselves when they make mistakes, but they stayed up the whole time today. We've been focusing on just playing the points and not worrying about the score this last week. Hopefully that's happening. They looked good today, and that was encouraging.”
On the upcoming road matches…
“I think we'll be fine this weekend. We just need to come out focused against some tough competition in Nebraska Kearney and Fort Hays State. We can beat everyone on our schedule, and we can also lose to everyone on our schedule if we don't come to play. We just need to focus on the next match.”
