The contest was the exhibition opener for the RiverHawks and the first as a program for the Mountaineers.

NSU jumped on top in the third minute when senior defender
Terence Smith headed home a well-placed corner from senior midfielder

Adam Schmoker then added an unassisted marker in the 19th minute to give the home team a two-goal advantage. Senior forward
Juan Peralta put away the next two goals off passes from
Jordan Schmoker, giving him three helpers on the evening.
