RiverHawks collect second preseason triumph

Northeastern State men's soccer defeats Oklahoma Baptist 2-0

Senior forward Juan Peralta picked up an assist on the game-winning goal Saturday night.

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – The Northeastern State men's soccer team earned a 2-0 exhibition victory over Oklahoma Baptist Saturday evening at DeLoache Field.
 
The RiverHawks improved to 2-0 during the preseason after outshooting the visiting Bison 13-9.
 
The home side took the lead in the 13th minute when senior forward Jordan Schmoker put away a pass from senior forward Juan Peralta. Freshman forward Justin Todd entered the game as a substitute and scored an insurance marker from freshman midfielder Trevor Reed in the 44th minute.
 
Neither team scored in the second half.
 
Sophomore goalkeeper Jackson Biles played the first 45 minutes and picked up the victory. He did not make a save.
 
The RiverHawks will now face Rogers State at 6 p.m. August 29 in Claremore, Oklahoma.
