NSU loses 8-1 to top-ranked NAIA program

Northeastern State kicks off Spring Break trip with loss to Auburn University Montgomery

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The No. 18-ranked Northeastern State women's tennis team lost 8-1 to Auburn University Montgomery Saturday afternoon at the Saint Leo Tennis Complex.
 
The RiverHawks (4-1) suffered their first loss of the season, and AUM improved to 9-1 on the season. The Warhawks are members of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). They are the defending NAIA National Champions and have captured 10 of the last 12 national titles.
 
The lone point of the day for Northeastern State came at No. 1 singles, where senior Patricia Husakova, NCAA Division II's No. 30-ranked singles player, defeated NAIA's No. 11-ranked Paula Diaz 6-1, 6-4.
 
NSU will remain in Florida for a 9 a.m. matchup March 13 against No. 3 Saint Leo.
