AUSTIN, Texas – One day removed from a loss to #10 St. Mary's, the RiverHawks rebounded with vengeance and trounced #37 St. Edward's 8-1 on Friday to complete their Texas road trip.

Northeastern State has spent parts of the last two weeks in the Lone Star State finishing 3-2 with their losses coming to Stephen F. Austin and on Thursday to St. Mary's.Â

The RiverHawks (4-2) came out strong out of the gates in doubles with #4
Molly Worden and
Val Efimenko leaving the court first in the top-spot with an 8-3 win over the Hilltopers.Â
Caitlin McCullough and
Easton Parker weren't far behind in the two-spot picking up another 8-3 victory in-favor of the RiverHawks. The doubles battle was in the three-spot with
Karla Tomaic and
Betha Gombarova edging past St. Edward's in a 9-8 tiebreaker.

In singles play, Efimenko picked up her fifth win of the season in the two-slot, besting St. Ed's 6-3, 6-3. The Hilltoppers followed up and took the bottom singles slot for their lone point of the afternoon. #35 Worden clinched the RiverHawks match win over #49 Anjali Sampath in the top-singles slot 7-5, 6-2 for her third win in a row.

The loss for St. Edward's was their first of the season in four matches.

Northeastern State will have a few days off until returning to the court on Feb. 16 at Harding.
