TAHLEQUAH – A dominate doubles performance by #10 Northeastern State paved the way to an 8-1 win over Lindenwood on Saturday afternoon.
NSU only allowed five games while sweeping all three double's spots for the seventh time this season.
Molly Worden and
Val Efimenko won 8-2 in NSU's top doubles slot with
Easton Parker and
Caitlin McCullough winning by the same score on court-two.
With a three-point lead heading into singles play, the RiverHawks won on five courts over Lindenwood, and only lost two games in the second set combined. Â Worden won her tenth match in a row on court-1 with a 6-1, 6-1 win.
Lindenwood with the loss to the RiverHawks fell to 6-7 and 0-2 in the MIAA.Â
Northeastern State (9-5, 3-0 MIAA) has now won four in a row and will have a showdown with #11 Southwest Baptist on Sunday at 11 a.m.
