TAHLEQUAH – The weather might have been cool outside but the #20 RiverHawks were red hot on Saturday after a 9-0 sweep over Central Oklahoma.
The win is NSU's 34th in a row in MIAA play during the regular season and the second straight home sweep over the Bronchos (9-7, 3-2 MIAA).
Northeastern State quickly worked through doubles with a pair of 8-3 wins on courts one and three.
Caitlin McCullough and
Easton Parker completed the sweep with an 8-6 victory.
With the RiverHawks sweeping doubles for the ninth time this season, the momentum carried over to singles play, and NSU took all six courts. Main action was on court-one with #30
Molly Worden battling #38 Alli Hodges. Worden handed Hodges her second loss of the season in 15 dual matches with a pair of 7-5, 7-5 set wins.
Northeastern State with four matches to go in MIAA play holds a 5-0 record and a one match lead over Southwest Baptist who the RiverHawks beat last weekend.
NSU with a 11-5 overall record will be at Washburn next Friday for their next match.
