RiverHawks wrap up ITA Regional

OKLAHOMA CITY – Northeastern State women's tennis competed over the weekend at the ITA Central Regional Tournament, hosted by Central Oklahoma. The tournament pulls in teams from the Great American Conference, MIAA, and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. 

Tatjana Stoll made some noise in the singles main bracket and reached the semifinals on Sunday morning. The senior won four matches before falling 6-4, 6-1 to Kim Moosbacher of Oklahoma Baptist, who eventually won the bracket. 
 
Kristela Vidnere made it into the second round of the main bracket but lost 6-2, 6-1 to Washburn.
 
After falling in the opening round of the main singles bracket, Betka Gombarova found redemption on the backdraw with four wins. Gombarova reached the championship but fell to Southern Arkansas. 
 
The RiverHawks had two teams in doubles with Gombarova and Vidnere, making it past the first round but lost 8-2 in the round of 16. 
 
Northeastern State concludes its individual fall championship play this weekend at Oral Roberts.
