RiverHawks in tenth at Bearcat Invitational

BOLIVAR, Mo. – Tyler Ashman leads the RiverHawks after two rounds of play in the windy SBU Invitational.  The freshman from Clovis, Calif, shot a 151 (74-77) at the Silo Ridge Country Club, which has him tied for 15th overall. 

Northeastern State was sitting in tied for sixth after the first round but as the day progressed and the wind picked up they slid down the leaderboard to tenth place in the 16-team field with a score 618 (305-313). 

Following Ashman is true freshman Carlos Gomez who climbed up the leaderboard to tie for 35th, during the second round as he carded a 154 (79-75). Following Gomez was redshirt junior Casey Paul from Broken Arrow, Okla. shooting 156 (75-81) which has him tied for 45th overall.  

Gomez and Paul both lead the field in eagles with one each during the first day. 

Senior Griffen Matthias is sitting one shot behind Paul with a score of 157 (77-80), which has him tied for 49th place overall.  Freshman Jax Johnson rounds out the RiverHawks lineup with the scores of 164 (80-84). 

Central Missouri leads the field with five shots after 36 holes played, shooting 592 (291-301). Trailing behind is Missouri Western with a total score of 597. 

The individual medalist, Cole Dillon, representing Central Missouri, shot a total score of even-par 144 (72-72) sitting one shot ahead of Missouri Western's Patrick McCarthy and Washburn's Andrew Beckler. 

The RiverHawks will play the third and last round of the tournament on Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m.
