LEMONT, Ill. -- The RiverHawks Men's Golf team is in fifth place after day one of the Lewis Flyer Intercollegiate, 21 strokes behind Indian Hills Community College, who are leading the tournament.
Jax Johnson is tied for ninth place after shooting a 74 in the first round, while
Casey Paul is tied for 20th with a score of 76.
Carlos Gomez and
Hunter Pennington are tied for 26th after shooting matching 77s on the day.
Ty Shelnutt rounds out the RiverHawks contingent tied for 91st place.
Indian Hills leads the team tournament after shooting 283 with Upper Iowa second and Parkland College tied for third with Minot State, just two strokes ahead of the RiverHawks. Harry Fearn of Indian Hills is the individual leader after posting a score of 66. His teammate Jesse MacNaughtan is second, four strokes back at 70.
The final round will be a shotgun start beginning Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
