TAHLEQUAH -- The RiverHawks baseball team will open their 2020 home schedule on Monday afternoon when they host the Oklahoma Baptist Bison at Rousey Field. FIrst pitch is at 2 p.m.
Opening Pitch
1. The RiverHawks opened the season with a four-game series against Southeastern Oklahoma, where they picked up a win on Saturday in game one of a doubleheader. They picked up win number two on Tuesday against Northwestern Oklahoma.
2. In the game against the Rangers,
Chaz Orr went 4-4 with three runs batted in while
Nic Swanson was 2-4 with two RBI.
Dakodah Jones pitched five innings to pick up the win, allowing one run on three hits.
Cohen Bell came on and threw three scoreless relief innings while
John Rains threw one scoreless inning.
3. Orr leads NSU with a .455 batting average. He has started all six games and has seven runs batted in as well as a home run. He is one of three RiverHawks to homer this season along with
Blake Freeman and
Collin Klingensmith.
4. On the mound, Connor and
Cohen Bell lead the RiverHawks. Con. Bell has pitched six innings, recording three strikeouts in two appearances. Coh. Bell has four strikeouts this season along with an ERA of 1.50.
Cal Howard picked up the win against the Savage Storm, throwing three relief innings.
5. The Bison enter the game on a three-game win streak after sweeping Southeastern Oklahoma State. The Bison won the final game of the series 16-0 in seven innings. Cliff Pradd, Ramon Gomez and Kaimana Bartolome all went 3-4 for Okla. Baptist in game two, who pounded out 17 hits. Bartolome had four runs batted in to lead the Bison. Bly threw a gem on the mound, pitching six innings allowing three hits and no runs. Lowry relieved him, throwing one scoreless inning with two hits. The Bison have three batters who are batting over .400, led by Gomez who is batting .432 on the season. Bartolome is hitting .425 while Pradd is sitting at .414.
