RiverHawks to face Bison in road matchup

TAHLEQUAH – The Northeastern State tennis team will travel to Shawnee on Friday afternoon to take on Oklahoma Baptist. The match will start at 1 p.m.
 
Opening Serve
1. The RiverHawks are 4-4 on the season, and are coming off a weekend where they went 1-2, with both losses coming against teams ranked in the top-20 in the nation. They opened the weekend with a 5-2 loss to No. 16 St. Edwards before beating UT Permian Basin 7-0. NSU would end the weekend with a 5-2 loss to Angelo State, who was ranked 14th in the nation.
 
2. Tatjana Stoll leads NSU with a 16-6 record this season and a 7-1 record in duals. Melissa Vera is 7-4 on the season and 5-2 in duals while Chloe Certain is 7-5 overall. Stoll also has a 10-4 record in doubles play, with Vera being 10-2 in doubles and Emma Warnock having a 10-3 record.
 
3. Charity Andrews is entering her second season as NSU head coach. In her first season, she took the RiverHawks to the MIAA Tournament. Before coming to NSU, she had been the head coach of the men's and women's programs at Cowley Community College (Arkansas City, Kan.).
 
4. The Bison will bring a 4-4 record into the weekend after losing to No. 22 Northwest Missouri State. The loss snapped a two-match win streak for the Bison. Kim Moosbacher has been dominant for the Bison, bringing in a record of 7-1 in singles play. Head coach Jason Proctor is in his second season with the Bison.
